BARBILLA NATIONAL PARK

Barbilla National Park is a protected area in Costa Rica’s Caribbean region, within La Amistad Caribe Conservation Area. It protects tropical rainforest, rivers, waterfalls, mountains and areas of high ecological and cultural importance. It is connected to Cabécar Indigenous communities and is a less crowded destination, recommended for visitors looking for nature, hiking and a more remote experience.

CRMaps Tip:
This is not an easy-access park. A 4x4 vehicle is recommended, and visitors should coordinate before going and use a local guide, since trails may be intermediate to advanced. Bring water, insect repellent, rain protection, hiking shoes and protection for electronic equipment.
