Puerto Limón is the main city on Costa Rica’s Caribbean coast and one of the country’s most important port areas. It has a strong Afro-Caribbean identity, railway history, urban architecture, local cuisine and connections to destinations such as Cahuita, Puerto Viejo, Tortuguero and the Southern Caribbean. It is also a cruise ship arrival point and a key cultural reference for Limón province.
