BRAULIO CARRILLO NATIONAL PARK

Braulio Carrillo National Park is one of the largest protected areas in Costa Rica’s central region. It is located in the Central Volcanic Mountain Range and protects very humid tropical forests, mountains, rivers, waterfalls, wildlife and ecosystems that are important for natural connectivity between the Central Valley and the Caribbean. Its main visitor sectors are Quebrada González and Volcán Barva.

Foreign visitors: US$12
Fees may change; confirm before visiting through SINAC. 

CRMaps Tip:
A good option for experiencing rainforest close to San José. Bring rain gear, closed shoes, insect repellent and water. For the Volcán Barva Sector, check road conditions and consider a 4x4 vehicle. Weather is usually humid and changeable.
