GUANACASTE NATIONAL PARK

Guanacaste National Park is part of the Guanacaste Conservation Area, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It protects an important natural connection between tropical dry forest, cloud forest and volcanic areas near the Guanacaste Mountain Range. The park is especially important for conservation, scientific research and biological connectivity across different elevations and ecosystems.

Fee:
Costa Rican citizens and residents: ₡1,100
Foreign visitors: US$15
All visits must be coordinated with the Santa Rosa Sector.

This is not usually a spontaneous tourist visit like other national parks. It is best to coordinate in advance with the Guanacaste Conservation Area or Santa Rosa Sector to confirm access, available trails, requirements and road conditions.
