ABANGARES MINING ECOMUSEUM

The Abangares Mining Ecomuseum is a historic and cultural site located in La Sierra, Abangares, Guanacaste. It preserves the memory of the area’s former gold mining activity, especially the legacy of the Abangares Gold Fields company and the structure known as Los Mazos, used to process gold-bearing quartz. The museum combines an exhibition room, industrial ruins, historic machinery and interpretive trails.
