CAHUITA NATIONAL PARK

Cahuita National Park is one of the best-known protected areas in Costa Rica’s Southern Caribbean. It protects beaches, tropical rainforest, coral reef, mangroves and wildlife. It is ideal for walking coastal trails, watching animals and enjoying Caribbean beaches with high natural value.

Hours:
Playa Blanca Sector: daily, 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Puerto Vargas Sector: daily, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Puerto Vargas Sector closes on the first Monday of each month.

Fee:
Playa Blanca Sector: voluntary contribution.
Puerto Vargas Sector: Costa Rican citizens and residents ₡1,000 / foreign visitors US$5.
Fees may change; confirm before visiting.

A great visit to combine beach, walking and wildlife watching. Bring water, insect repellent, sunscreen, comfortable shoes and a swimsuit. Snorkeling on the reef requires an authorized guide and suitable sea conditions.
