RINCÓN DE LA VIEJA NATIONAL PARK

National park located within the Guanacaste Conservation Area, around Rincón de la Vieja Volcano. It protects tropical dry forest, humid forest, volcanic activity, rivers, waterfalls, trails and a wide variety of wildlife. It is one of Guanacaste’s most important parks because of its combination of nature, volcanic geology and mountain landscapes.

• Monkeys, coatis, armadillos and other wildlife
• Las Pailas Sector and Santa María Sector

Hours:
Las Pailas Sector: Tuesday to Sunday, 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Closed on Monday.
Santa María Sector: Thursday to Monday, 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Hours may vary depending on the sector and park conditions. 

Fee:
Costa Rican citizens and residents, adults: ₡1,130
Costa Rican and resident children: ₡565
Foreign adults: US$16.95
Foreign children: US$5.65
Fees may change; confirm through the official system before visiting.
